Can I add my child to the waiting list?
Yes, you can add your child to the waiting list for Buttsbury Pre-school here.
If you are adding your child to our waiting list, we still recommend submitting applications to several pre-schools in Billericay to maximise your chances of securing a placement in the area.
When should I add my child to the waiting list?
Due to the popularity of our waiting lists, it is highly recommended to register your child as soon as possible after their birth to increase the likelihood of securing a place at Buttsbury Pre-school Billericay.
When will my child start Buttsbury Pre-School?
Children start at Buttsbury Pre-school in the September following their second birthday. They then stay with us for two years before moving on to primary school. Please note, we have one intake per year in September, so children are not able to join partway through the year. Our goal is that children attend Buttsbury Pre-school for a full two-years, and so we are unable to offer places for just one year.
When will I find out if my child has been accepted?
In January or February of the year your child is due to start their two years at pre-school, we will offer available spaces from our waiting lists. You will receive an email from our Admissions Officer to confirm your place and request a completed registration form along with a registration fee or deposit. Please choose at least two preferred sessions, including one afternoon. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences, though it may not always be possible. If we don’t hear from you within 5 working days, we will offer your place to another child. If you are unavailable during this time, please let us know as soon as possible.
Can I arrange a tour of Buttsbury Pre-school before adding my child to the waiting list?
We currently only offer visits to Buttsbury Pre-School and chances to meet our staff once a place has been allocated. While you are waiting, we recommend looking at our online virtual tour and gallery to get a feel for the pre-school. If you have any further questions about what we offer, you are more than welcome to give us a call or send an email.
Will my child get a space at Buttsbury Primary School if I go to pre-school?
Attendance at Buttsbury Pre-school doesn’t guarantee placement at Buttsbury Primary School.
What is New Starter Induction Day?
Our New Starter Induction Day in September is an excellent opportunity for parents and guardians to meet our friendly staff in-person and see what a typical session looks like. It's also a chance for your child to get to know our team and become familiar with the surroundings, all while feeling safe and secure with you by their side. Once your child’s place is confirmed, we'll send you a welcome pack with all the necessary information. Please ensure you complete all the documents and return them to us by the advised date.
During your visit, you will have the chance to speak with your child's key person. They will go through your completed 'starting point' form to gather relevant information about your child's individual and developmental needs. This helps us ensure that we have any necessary support or training in place before your child's start date.
How can I prepare my child for pre-school?
To help your child prepare for their upcoming start at Buttsbury Pre-school, engage in positive conversations about what a typical day will be like. You can utilise our virtual tour, meet the team, and a typical day page to familiarise them with our staff and the environment. We also encourage you to start teaching essential self-help skills, e.g. recognising their coat and shoe bag. This preparation will boost their confidence as they transition into this exciting new phase!
