CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 (please see further information under our 'Parents' tab)
UPDATED 31st May, 11.30
Following the Prime Ministers announcement on the 28th May, we are now preparing to partially reopen the pre-school to our children leaving for Infant school first. These children will attend in small, consistent 'bubble' groups and parents will be updated week commencing 1st June of our plans going forward.
With regard to reopening to our 'Buttsbury Bear' children, we will be emailing you all, week commencing 1st June, to update you on our plans to re-introduce your children when we can, without risking the possible infection of current children and staff.

We appreciate the uncertainty that yesterday evening's Prime Ministers announcement may have brought. It will be a very unsettling few weeks whilst we try and wade through the guidance from central and local government and try to find a plan that we feel will keep both our staff and children safe. We are sure you can imagine this will be a huge task and one that will require careful planning.
We will update our website again once we are in a position to provide you with further details.

The most recent advice on how to continue to limit the spread of COVID-19 is clear:
* If children can stay safely at home, they should, as this will limit the chance of the virus spreading.
* Parents should not rely for childcare from relatives or friends who may be at greatest risk due to their age of having underlying conditions.
* Parents should also do everything they can to ensure children are not mixing socially in a way which can continue to spread the virus. They should follow the same social distancing rules as adults.
That is why the government has asked parents to keep their children at home, wherever possible, and asked schools and early years settings to remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attend.
Buttsbury Pre-school is open at the following times during the school term (38 weeks per year):
Mornings: 8.45 am — 11.45 am
Afternoons: 12.15 pm — 3.15 pm
We are very flexible with our drop off and early pick up times as we understand that parents may also have Infant and Junior School children to drop off and collect. We will work with parents to ensure this runs smoothly for them.
Should you wish your child to attend the pre-school, your child’s name may be placed on the waiting list/s at any time. It is your responsibility to ensure your child’s name and any siblings are placed on our appropriate intake lists.
It is important that you refer to our Admissions policy and procedure for full details. These are in a folder in reception, in our office or can be emailed to you upon request.
For a child to settle well into pre-school, we require them to attend a minimum of two sessions per week and one must be an afternoon session.
Visits to the Pre-school
You and your child are welcome to view the pre-school by arrangement. When you have been offered a place, you will be required to visit the pre-school with your child. The visit is an opportunity for the parent/carer to ask questions to the pre-school staff and see what goes on during a typical session. It is also an opportunity for your child to meet the pre-school staff and familiarise themselves with the surroundings, while still secure that the parent/carer is in attendance.
Prior to your child’s visit you will be sent a welcome pack. Please complete ALL documents and return these to the pre-school by the date advised.
During your visit, you will have the opportunity to speak with your child’s key person. Your key person will go through your completed ‘starting point’ form to obtain some relevant information about your child’s individual and developmental needs. This is to ensure that we have any support or training in place prior to their start date.
Please note - attendance at Buttsbury Pre-school does not guarantee admission to Buttsbury Infant School.
